So I decided that I will show you how to get the new Multimax's with the ACC port to turn on and off Pre-Release and Trigger your camera.

Okay let's get started.

Things you will need:

Pocketwizard MultiMAX with ACC port
Canon N3 Camera trigger. (I have a cheap 15 dollar Opteka trigger)
1 Stereo 1/8" (3.5mm) Jack (got mine from radio shack - came in a 2 pack)
Wire ( I used some old ethernet cable wire)
Wire Cutters
Small drill bit for pilot hole
15/64th drill bit for stereo plug
Solder
Soldering Iron
Male to male stereo chord.

First, open up the trigger and drill the pilot hole followed by the 15/64th drill bit. Make sure that the panel mount stereo jack fits in the place you're drilling it for.

Then, take three pieces of wire and solder it to the three connectors on the trigger, noting which is ground, half-press, and full-press.

This is the part that took me some experimenting to finally get right.

To get the PocketWizard to wake up with you enable the zone from the transmitter you need to solder the wires in the following order:

Tip= Full-Press
Middle= Ground
Bottom= Half Press

For the longest time, I tried to put the half press in the middle and ground at the bottom, but it's actually the opposite!

Next, just secure the phone jack inside the trigger and screw in all together. VOILA!

Also, this is how you actually operate the ACC port. The Reciever must be set to the same zone and channel as the transmitter. To turn off the Pre-Trigger, simple deactivate the zone on the transmitter. Turn on pretriggering by activating the zone. Hope this was helpful. I'll try putting pictures up when I get to it.

~Aleutian

Comments on photography

I sit here pondering the idea of portraiture. I know, how nerdy is it that I actually spend my nights pondering portraiture- it's quite perplexing really - but it's what I do. A photo is such an interesting thing- a 2D representation of a living 3D object (duh). What gets me is how, in just 100 years, the craft has come from spooky blobs with harsh chemicals to a digital workflow accessible to all walks of life. Although, I believe to truly appreciate the digital age, you need to know it's origins. Yeah, I'm talking about flimsy, scary, fragile film. My father lent me his Hasselblad awhile ago and I've had a Darkroom set up downstairs for about a year now, but I'm just now really getting into film and printing. I'm saving up to buy my first holga (if you don't know what that is, it's basically a toy camera that is prone to all sorts of goofy things like light leaks and double exposures). I'll have to scan some images from the Hasselblad and share them, if you're interested. So, I've rambled on here, but I just wanted to write something before I headed off to bed. I hope everything is well in your world and as my father says - "When trying to find the meaning of life, look no further than pizza". Not sure how that applies, but hey it's late - give me a break :p

Olivia's Portrait Session

Hi All!

So here's a senior portrait session I did recently. The weather was gloomy, but Olivia brightened it right up. We had a great time in Wirth Park and luckily it wasn't too crazy cold. Life is pretty good and business is keeping me busy. I've had a really strong desire to do a crazy whimsical out there shoot for Fall. Shoot me a comment if you're interested. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy the pictures!

<img src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_bxCUkXO0yzo/SvOrFXLvpGI/AAAAAAAAABw/RyQD9apqum8/s400/1061.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400848486758327394" style="display: block;
