Comments on photography

I sit here pondering the idea of portraiture. I know, how nerdy is it that I actually spend my nights pondering portraiture- it's quite perplexing really - but it's what I do. A photo is such an interesting thing- a 2D representation of a living 3D object (duh). What gets me is how, in just 100 years, the craft has come from spooky blobs with harsh chemicals to a digital workflow accessible to all walks of life. Although, I believe to truly appreciate the digital age, you need to know it's origins. Yeah, I'm talking about flimsy, scary, fragile film. My father lent me his Hasselblad awhile ago and I've had a Darkroom set up downstairs for about a year now, but I'm just now really getting into film and printing. I'm saving up to buy my first holga (if you don't know what that is, it's basically a toy camera that is prone to all sorts of goofy things like light leaks and double exposures). I'll have to scan some images from the Hasselblad and share them, if you're interested. So, I've rambled on here, but I just wanted to write something before I headed off to bed. I hope everything is well in your world and as my father says - "When trying to find the meaning of life, look no further than pizza". Not sure how that applies, but hey it's late - give me a break :p
